I was born in Leipzig, East Germany, and came to Britain in 1994. For many years, I used to work for the University of Bristol but am now a self-employed translator and interpreter. My wife and I moved to Dundry (Crabtree Close) in 2007. We immediately liked the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of this community so I decided to get involved. I joined the Parish Plan Committee in 2008 and the Parish Council in spring 2009. I was elected Chair of the Parish Council in May 2010.

I have lived in Dundry since 1970 and have been a member of Dundry Parish Council for around 15 years, including three years as Chair.
My particular responsibilities have included short and long term planning in the village, leading the Council's responses to developments at Bristol Airport and to the proposed development at Ashton Vale.
I have sought to protect and enhance the rural characteristics of Dundry Parish, supporting small scale, compatible growth and new facilities such as the proposed playground.

I moved from Portsmouth to Dundry about 12 years ago and I live on the A38 Bridgwater Road. I was employed by the Ministry of Defence as a NATO Senior Project Manager, and took early retirement in 2009. I am also a founder member of the Dundry Residents Action Group (DRAG) which formed in August 2008 and whose main aim is to protect the Green Belt including our lovely wildlife and countryside. I decided to put my name forward to join the Dundry Parish Council as I would like to address, to the Council, the concerns of the Dundry Residents in my area and to assist the Council in any way I can for the good of the community.
