The Parish of Dundry in North Somerset occupies an elevated position some 4
miles south of Bristol and on the northern edge of the Chew Valley. The
parish extends eastwards from the A38 road at Barrow Common, through Dundry
village to East Dundry. Dundry Hill, which is dominated by the tower of St
Michael’s church, is a prominent feature with steep slopes leading to a
broad, gently undulating plateau with large fields, relatively few trees and
a higher proportion of arable farming than generally found in North
Somerset.
