Having considered the plans councillors would like North Somerset Council to take into account in particular the following points: • The character of the proposed dwelling is not in keeping with the surrounding properties. • Access is via a narrow un-adopted road with a sharp ‘hairpin’ bend at the top which is difficult to navigate at the best of times. The proposed scheme when completed will add another property to the five already using this access. In addition councillors are concerned about the suitability of this road for construction traffic. • This area of Dundry is subject to a risk of landslip which may be increased during construction. • This is an area of underground springs and water courses. There is no satisfactory indication of how these will be dealt with in order to prevent flooding of properties further down the hill. • There is concern about overlooking and loss of privacy to properties downhill from the proposed dwelling.
