W.I. History

Dundry WI is part of the Avon Federation of Women’s Institutes. We were founded in 1922. We meet at 7.30pm in Dundry Village Hall every 3rd Wednesday (except December when it’s 2nd Wednesday). You will receive a very warm and friendly welcome at our meeting – and that’s a promise.

We have really good speakers, lovely refreshments and a trading stall with reasonable prices. Of course there is always time to chat, naturally.

We visit lots of local attractions, gardens etc… We go on outings further afield, usually by coach. We have a large variety of WI organised events to choose from every month.

There is craft, walks, sport, lectures, cookery and other classes and courses locally or at Denman, the WI College. We have a nosh and natter lunch on the last Wednesday of every month at the local Carpenter’s Arms and husbands and friends are welcome.

Federation events include trips home and abroad. Previously to Ireland, Wales, Northumbria, The Lake District, Italy and Austria to name just a few.
